Goodbye Sweet Hat Head

I hate goodbyes. I’d rather slip out the back, Jack, and get myself gone.

So this is not easy, nor fun.

One of my favourite comrades is climbing aboard a train and slipping out of The Big Smoke.

Hat Head is leaving Toronto and I don’t know when I’ll see her again.

I’ll miss her chagrined DUUUUUUUDDEE greeting, her beautiful smile and all her wonderful creations.

Who else would conceive a blood soaked angel, reeling from the after effects of a punch to the face?

Generous to a fault and gloriously open minded, Hat Head will remain to her friends the perfect companion. Funny and smart, alternately raunchy and innocent, it was impossible to spend time with Hat Head without being both provoked and entertained. The girl loves deeply and cherishes her companions.

My favourite moments were spent huddled over her art, attempting to plumb the depths of her psyche while reviewing pictures that were touching, moving and, without question, the fruits of a brilliant artistic mind.

Happy, sad, content or vexed, Hat Head remains compelling and intriguing.

Farewell Hat Head. Ride with the wind, sweet thing, but carry the affection and love of those you leave behind like a warm blanket on a chilly night. I was enriched by your friendship and accept, sadly, that the time has come for a new stage in your life.

We’re going to miss you

And you were wrong - Hat Head has many friends
