Klitschko Can Manage In Under Six
The New York Yankees received government assistance to the tune of 800 million dollars to erect their new stadium. With harbingers of economic doom descending like locusts, how would you feel as a New York taxpayer now that the Bronx Bombers have handed out over 240 million dollars worth of contract to two pitchers? I tell you, I don’t know anyone in regular life who does not work harder then A J Burnett…could Scot Boras, agent extraordinaire, and all round asshole, have blown it with his big name clients like Manny Ramirez, Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek still unsigned? Wouldn’t it be sweet to watch his patient approach to this seasons free agent fortunes backfire and leave his coterie of pampered pricks accepting downsized wages…Boras’s other high profile free agent, Mark Teixeira, does look set to hit the jackpot, fielding an offer from the Angels for 160 million for eight years. Damn. It just might be Boras’s world, and we’re just here to buy hot dogs and crackerjack…the Dallas Morning News had a compelling piece on the implosion of the Dallas Cowboys. Players fighting, separate camps, a weak coach, an interfering owner - it’s a real potboiler as the Cowboys inch closer to what had seemed impossible in 2008, a sideline seat for the playoffs…bad news for Bucs fans as word has Jeff Garcia missing Sundays match with the Falcons. He has injured his calf. Hmmm, that headline from yesterday looks a tad premature…I fully support the award of Canadian Horse of the Year to Fatal Bullet. The deadly sprinter was electrifying on racings biggest day, running second in the Breeders Cup Sprint, and we simply did not have other Canadian breds marshalling that kind of achievement in 2008. Rahy’s Attorney, second in the voting, is a marvelous runner while savouring the home cooking in Rexdale. He thrives while negotiating the local course, but he is not in the North American top five in his division and does not have the credentials of the aforementioned speedball…the over/under for the big Heavyweight bore tonight is six and a half rounds. I don’t think challenger Hasim Rachman can keep it together for that long at this level. I’m proposing a wager on the under… sat down this morning and read William Young’s sensation, “The Shack”. I found it manipulative and crass. Went to see “Slumdog Millionaire” last night. I found it manipulative and crass…and, just so you know, the new Killers song, “Human”, with its catchy chorus, “Are we human, or are we dancer?” is certainly not a dumb lyric. It is a reference to the Hunter S Thompson quote, “We are raising a generation of dancers”..
