One Vital Champ
Of course the Leafs are going to have nights like that. But, NO Sundin equals BIG smiles, BIG hope, and a team we can finally cheer for. When Burke takes over, at the conclusion of this season, we’ll be a only a couple of years away from contending again…and I hope the blond Swedish fraud never sets foot in the Big Smoke again…Eric Staal and Cam Ward are going to have huge years, and that’s why you should not ignore everybody’s favourite team to ignore, the Carolina Hurricanes…Vitali Klitschko is the best heavyweight in the world. His punk brother, Vladimir, is a glass jawed joke, a disaster awaiting the next Lamont Brewster or Corrie Sanders. Vitali had Lennox Lewis dead to rights in their classic June 2003 brawl and the British bumbler made sure to never give the Ukrainian his deserved rematch. It is good to have you back, Vitali, and a crying shame you can’t give your brother a couple of good hard smacks…five races to go in the Chase and NASCAR is desperate to have you believe the title is still up in theĀ air. It’s not. J J is home and cooled out…at Woodbine…hard to know how shippers will deal with the intricacies of our plastic track, but A LITTLE WILD, in the fourth, looks to be sitting on a peak effort. It is quite a difficult field but the tigers are inconsistent and our choice may surprise…in the fifth FLESHNER drops from a more difficult classification but his besting of half the field in that Sept 25th is a positive. He should enjoy a most positive jock change to Ramsammy…Glenn Magnusson has been entering runners in the Bunty Lawless from the time most of us were knee high to our mothers thigh. Respect. We’ll bet his FORTY CREEK out of sheer sentimentality…FIDDLESTICKS has circled back to her top and could surprise in the seventh. She should be emboldened by the reduction in real estate…you can choose to be a fan, or a punter, in the eighth. The very special occasion is the debut of CROSS EVERY BRIDGE, a son of two magnificent competitors, the incomparable Giants Causeway and local Sam Son legend Misty Mission. It would be a wonderful tonic for the troops if this Ontario bred developed into our next great runner….JIMMY SIMMS opened with authority on the weeds Sept 13th and should be a punctual choice in the ninth. Woodbourne looms the one to beat…VICTORY GUARANTEED is a bit of a hunch play in the day’s finale. Something must have gone wrong Sept 27th when the filly blew her chance to nail down that second lifetime win. The return of her favourite jock coincides with a drop in class…
