Curlin is a go for the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont on Sept 27th. His plans after that engagement are uncertain and his absence from the Breeders Cup Classic is a distinct possibility. The prospect of a showdown with Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown might be an inducement to alter plans, but don’t count on it.
